Can't access HDD boot partition

Hi all,

I recently moved the majority of my hardware to a new motherboard and processor after my previous motherboard blew up, in the process upgrading, basically reusing only the video card, case, psu, cooler and keeping the old HDD for storage.

New specs are as follows:
Motherboard: Asus z87-C
Processor: Intel i5 4670k
CPU coolor: CM Hyper 212 Evo
Ram: 8gb G.Skill Sniper DDR3 2400
HDD (New): 1tb Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX
GPU: Asus 660 Direct CU
PSU: CX Corsair 430
Case: NZXT Source 220

Windows 7 pro 64 bit installed without any problems on the new hard drive. My problems came up when trying to activate windows. When I built the first system, I had to go with an OEM copy of windows as I couldn't afford anything else (You can probably tell it's sort of a budget build, a lot of stuff was open box etc) so now the activation is paired with the old motherboard and Microsoft support will not release the pairing to let me activate on the new motherboard.

I read that I would be able to clone the activation information from the old drive to the new drive boot partition to bypass the activation issue. The problem I am having is after the fresh install of Windows 7 on the new drive, in which no partitions existed previous to the install, I cannot assign a drive letter to the boot partition using windows disk management, all options are grayed out and then even on the primary partition only convert to dynamic disk option is available. I did a bit of reading and tried using the 'Diskpart' command line method. Using the Diskpart method allowed me to assign a drive letter to the boot partition. When I tried to view the partition, much less access it, I get a prompt that says the computer security settings do not allow this action.

In the OS my account is the only one listed, so it is the administrator account, retaining all control etc.

My question is: is there a way to somehow 'unlock' my HDD completely? Some method that would allow me to use windows disk management would be best I think so I can take control of the whole hard drive, not just the boot partition.
I am concerned for the primary partition as well since all options other than convert to dynamic are grayed out. I checked my work computer and even there with higher domain security account settings, I have options such as assign/change drive letter etc etc.

Thank you in advance for any clues or solutions you all can offer up!

In Disk Management, what size is this Boot partition?

Resolved the issue. It wasn't a boot issue, it was that I was trying to clone the old efi partition to the new drive which was not allowing access of any type to the efi partition nor allowing anything other than convert to dynamic drive on the primary partition. Changed the bios Sata setup to IDE instead of AHCI, deleted all partitions and reinstalled.
