I recently got a new laptop, and used it for about 2 weeks before attaching it to my monitor that I had used before. I played all my games on 1600x900 (max resolution for laptop screen), but launching them on my 1920x1080 monitor, none of them work full screen. They work perfectly in windowed mode. However, I changed some games (such as Burnout Paradise) to 1920x1080 and it worked in fullscreen. However, most of the other games such as Counter Strike GO (which gives me a "failed to create D3D device" error), Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (which blacks out completely and forces a restart)don't work. All my drivers are up to date, and my specs are:

4th gen Intel core i7, clocked at @ 2.4 Ghz
8 GB of RAM
Nvidia GeForce 750m (gaming)/Intel HD 4600 (daily use)
Windows 8 64-bit

What do I do? Thank you in advance

Suggestion 1:
Try setting the other monitor as the primary screen.

Sollution 2:
Make sure the monitors are not mirroring each other and
Just change the resolution :)
