I just moved my Apevia X Trooper case under my desk, there are two top fans which is what I am worrired about. Will it get hotter? I game a lot on it. It used to be on top of my desk but I plan on buying an NZXT Phantom White Full Tower and it will only fit under the desk as well so I figured I might as well get used to change.

alot of people put there computer under their desk, it will be fine just try to make sure to leave at least 2 inches of space on each side of the computer so it can breathe. you might feel warm air near the computer but thats just the hot air being blown out of the pc

Oh wow are you guys serious, also this is on wood no carpet I am aware of that lol. I thought I need the entire top to be cleared! I just moved the PC back to its original location and I was about to buy the Corsair 500r rather than the NZXT Phantom full tower. I will give you the measurements.

Apevia X Trooper case- 17 1/2 Inch
Height of desk (from floor to the top) 28
So I have about 11 inch of room on top, is that good?

However, if I go through and purchase the NZXT Phantom Full tower which is 21 inches tall, that room on top will be important because I will have a H100i in there. I will have about 7 inches of space then, is that still good or is it bad?

those dimensions listed for the case are not always correct. and just dont block any of the holes/vents one your computer case and you will be fine. and that corsair 500r is a nice looking case. better then the phantom in my opinion

Exactly 7 inches no more, so are you still sure? Im not doubting you or anything I just really want to make sure because I am thinking that the air (which will be warm/hot) will stay there building up and start going down/around the PC or no because of the exhaust fan thats in the back of computers?

My desk is pretty much enclosed, the only part where air can get out is from where I took the picture (although theres nothing there to push it there) and that bottom opening. Would you like a picture of the entire desk?

I like the phantom full tower a bit more. Also, I got the dimensions from a newegg video. The video had the guy reading the specs on the box and on the box it had W, D, and H. The Height was 541mm, put it into google for inches and it came out to be 21.2inches.

8 inches is more then enough. plus heat rises so you dont have to worry about it being around your computer. ideally you should have a fan blowing air into your computer locared at the front. then at the back or in your case the top a fan should be blowing air out of the computer...so fresh air is constantly flowing through the machine and not a lot of spave is required to get rid of the air which is why 8 inches is plenty

Code:

Yeah I am going to put some carpet in there but am saving up the money, I just took two pics for you (this was before hand) might as well post them anyways if you are interested, I believe you though regardless. Thanks for all of your help, I was about to purchase a different case. The pics appeared okay to me on my computer for some reason, I dont know they had to be rotated on yours sorry if that happens with this next pic.

In that pic I piled a couple of notebooks and papers until I had 7 inches left on the tape measure. The brown folder is covering the 7, I sort of did that on purpose so you could make it out easily but now I see that it may be a bit confused.

Once again thanks!! You saved me!!

Again, it is rotated, but no worries.
That looks VERY much like the underside of my desk.

You. Are. Fine.

(Just don't leave those books on top of it if that is where the top exhaust is)

Lol funny actually, I almost turned it on with them left on lol I was like "oh wait forgot about these". Thanks, I did what you did to feel the air on top of the case...about 3-5 inches I dont feel anymore air pushing so thats good.
