Hello, sorry if this is the wrong place but I'm not sure where to put it. I just installed a video card to my computer (Radeon HD 6570) and anyway after a million reboots I finally got it working, however my sound is now gone.

My computer refuses to recognize any audio devices, I've gone to sounds on the control panel and it won't list on my on board audio card or headphones, the only thing listed is playon audio virtual device. In addition there is no speaker icon like there normally is in the system tray

I'm using a Hp Pavillion a1720n with Windows Xp professional sp3. I'm really wondering what I need to do, reinstall audio drivers maybe? I've already tried using slimdrivers but it didn't list anything to do with audio. Again the problem is the computer just won't recognize the speakers I've plugged in or headphones, all thats listed for sound is playon virtual audio device

Thanks in advance and Ill provide any additional information necessary

There is a good chance the video card has audio in it and if you're using HDMI it may be set as the default audio. I'd double check your Device Manager to see if a new audio device was found.

I get this http://gyazo.com/9e0106f9c44e7bf0a9b1a29cdf34bb29
and this http://gyazo.com/ec10709aa34d64c7f937da3d44e3c5c6

Is there anyway to make it so HDMI is not set as default audio? I only have a VGA cable at the moment

EDIT: during installation of the video card I was promoted to install new audio drivers, not sure if they're the problem or how to get rid of them if they are
