What's with "Hardware Reserved"

Well just got 8gb of Corsair Vengance 1600mhz 2x4gb black to up on my asus p7p55 LX.

I fresh installed win7-64bit prior to the upgrade and I'm getting only 4gb of ram utilization. The other 4gb is marked hardware reserved. What's up with this? I checked compatibility and it should be fine.

try this , Window button + R or run from the start menu , type msconfig and then click run , go to the boot tab and then click advanced options and mark the check box of maximum memory click ok , ok , and restart ur computer and see if its still only reading half the rams , btw the other half is probably being used by ur GPU
