Hello,

I assembled a PC with these components:
ASUS M5A97 AMD LE R2.0
AMD FX-6300
CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 600W
ASUS GTX650 2GB
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3

I connected the components and when I try to power the machine absolutely nothing happens. I checked to see if the PSU was on/off toggle was on and it is. The other thing I noticed is that I have no LED lights, no lights off the MOBO.

This is my first ever build so I have zero clue what could be the issue.

Solution
Yeah the type of screw shouldn't matter. If there is nothing between the motherboard, you may want to try powering it on manually, using a screwdriver to complete the circuit as shown here: http://youtu.be/d_56kyib-Ls?t=21m15s

This will tell you if the power button is okay.

If that doesn't work, you may want to check your power supply.

Is your motherboard touching your case? If there is anything underneath it that is conductive, your computer may not start. Be sure that your motherboard is placed on the standoffs (which are screwed into the case), and not screwed directly to the case.

I assembled the motherboard on the standoffs. I will triple check to make sure there is nothing touching. I did have an issue finding the correct screws for the Motherboard standoffs and one of them is not a correct screw. I read on here that if they fit that the type of screw wouldn't matter. I hope that's the case.
