Hello everyone! I'm having a strange issue since I bought an USB adapter for my computers. I'm currently using an Asus RT-N10 router, which I never had any issues before and on my computer I have an Asus USB-N10 Wireless Adapter. I have a 10MB Internet Connection.

With that being said, here is the deal: I'm only getting 0.5-1.0MBps on my USB adapter, with a high latency ( 50-100ms ) and 0.1Mbps upload, and those results are ridiculous. On my other computer (which has a built-in Wireless Card) and on my Android Phone, it gets 7MBps Download, 1MBps Upload and low latency ( 5-8ms). Thinking that the problem was with my USB adapter, I borrowed another one from a neighbor and got about the same results I did with mine.

I tried to connect to my neighbor's internet and got the regular speeds, he has a 1.5MBps internet connection, and I got 0.99Mbps download, 9ms latency and 0.2Mbps upload. Tried again with another Internet Connection ( My phone's 3G ) and got 1.25Mbps Download, 0.35Mbps upload and 50ms latency (which is normal where I live. It's not bad, but not good for gaming).

After that, I assumed the problem was between my Router and all USB adapters, so I tried to do a hard reset on the router, which worked for about 5s. The moment I reseted, I got 5Mbps Down., 0.8Mbps Up and 12ms latency (which is a bit lower than the normal Speeds, but it's acceptable), but after 2 minutes I noticed that the web pages were taking A LOT to open, again, so I redid the test and got even lower results from before: 0.3Mpbs Down, 150ms latency, 0.01mpbs Up. Frustrated, I redid the test on the other computer and the results were completely normal. So I tried to manually configure the router, with the Asus Ultiliy Tool.

Tried to switch between B,G and N, with no results, Tried to increase the Frequency from 20hz to 40hz, with no results. Tried to switch channels ( 1 to 11 ), with no results. Tried to higher the priority of my computer and lower the other ones, with no results. Tried to update the Firmware, with no results. Tried to update and even downgrade the drivers of the USB adapter, with absolutely no results.

I play Heroes of Newerth A LOT, and if any of you play a similar game, like Dota 2, LOL or Dota, you know that 1ms makes a difference, and lately it's being impossible to play, with huge lags, spikes and delays. And there is no way to bring the wires to my room, because is too far away, but I still get full signal strength. And I don't pretend to buy a Wireless Card, since i'm probably going for a 3-Way GTX 760 in a near future.

I don't know if it makes any difference, but here are my computer specs ( the one I use the USB adapter):
Motherboard: Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z
Processor: AMD FX-8350 Stock
RAM: 2x4 G.Skill Ares 2133Mhz
PSU: 1000W NZXT Hale 90
GPU: Nvidia GT 520 ( Crap, but my 7970 died )
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB - 7200rpm
Windows 7 Ultimate x64

The specs from the computer where the results are normal (It's a Dell, so I don't know the Mobo, but I do know its a Small ATX):
Processor: i5 750 Stock
RAM: 2x2 Samsung 1333Mhz
PSU: 350W
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 240 Stock
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint 5400rpm 500GB
Windows 7 Home Basic x32

Sorry for the long post, but I tried to share all details I could think of.
I really appreciate any help, this problem is driving me crazy.

Solution
MakE sure your motherboard chipset and USB drivers are up to date. Look online for the chipset vendor of your USB dongle and try there gen drivers to see if they work. Also see what the chipset was on your friends dongle.

Every single driver is up to date, including Chipset's and USB's. The USB adapter works fine with other routers and Internet Connections, the problem is just with my particular router. I tried all the drivers from Asus, none of them changed anything...

What I would do look up chipset in both the dongle and the router then see if any other people been having issues. Could be firmware or chipset issue.if you can find any issue online try email asus for help. Could be a bad batch of dongles on a hardware bug.

I don't think that's the problem... I just managed to put the Adapter on the other computer and deactivated the built-in wireless card, and tested the Speeds/Latency, and they were normal ( 7Mbps Down, 10ms latency, 0.9Mbps Up. ) So the problem is on my computer... I'll try to reinstall the USB drivers and the Adapter driver and see if I can solve this.

Thanks for the reply, but I managed to solve this, after 72 hours trying! I booted into safe mode and notice that the Speeds were regular, so I thought that there was a Service/Driver issue. I uninstalled some WEB related apps ( like cFos, which comes with the Mobo) and disabled unnecessary services from windows. My latency and speeds are normal now. =)
