So I was installing Samsung's Kies program today and all of a sudden my computer crashed and wouldn't reboot to my SSD drive that I've been using for the past 6 months.

The drive is completely recognized in the bios, and if I boot with an old HDD I can see the SSD in Windows 7 and have retrieved most important files from it.

I have used HD Tune and directed it at the SSD drive and run all sorts of test and have found no errors with the error scan and nothing unusual with the read/write speeds.

I have changed the modes of the HDD and the SSD from IDE to ACHI and booted (didn't work) and changed them back to IDE. Still nothing.

The windows 7 disc checked for errors on the SSD and came back with error code 0x0 but i've had no luck with what that could mean. Additionally windows start disk is unable to repair the SSD.

Is there anything I can do other than formatting it and trying a fresh windows install? I've already cleared the cmos and left the computer completely disconnected from power for an extended period.

Solution
try updating the firmware first.
What error message do yo get when you try to boot windows from the SSD? you may need to disable abutomatic restart first by pressing f8 repeatedly right after the bios loads (when it beeps). It will be in the list of options along with start in safe mode which you may need to do later.
