The above link leads to what will become my first build.

Now, I am wondering what I can do to improve this build and optimize it as much as I can for the money I've already got in.

Keep in mind: The keyboard and monitor are not part of this question, so ignore them. I would however like to know if there is a cheaper alternative to the monitor that would be the same quality (or better) for cheaper.

you don't need a fancy GPU like HD7950 for a 1920x1080 resolution gameplay, trust me HD7850 is more than enough, I wouldn't go over HD7770. HD7950 and HD7970 are GPU's for 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 resolutions. And buy parts from newegg.com it's more reliable, cpu and gpu and hdd may be cheaper on ebay.com. If you gonna go for HD7950 then buy additional 2 monitors and make the screen resolution to 7680x1080. Then you'll be using the full potential of your card

Cheers

A 7950? Sorry, but a 7950 would not be sufficient for 3 monitors. It is a good choice for 1080p. A 7850 will not max out games at 1080p. The 7950 is perfect for the OPs build.

If you think that 10FPS on Low settings is good, fine. If not, a good GPU is essential.

Well my friend believe what you want, I'm just trying to save you money here, I'm here more than fine with OC-d HD7770 playing mechwarrior online with no friggin problems on 1080p :D

For a GPU going with AMD/ATI I would not go lower than a 7950. For the best gaming performance go with a Sapphire HD 7950 or Asus HD 7950. Do not go for a 7850 or lower. You will be disappointed in the performance if you do that is with out a doubt.
