gtx g50 ti boost games crashing

Hello,
I recently purchased 650 ti boost, and when i try to play medal of honor warfighter there are frequent fps drops from 50 to 25 and then after some time it crashes, but to be sure if it is my gpu i played far cry for about 1 hour without crash, so what do you guys think is this my gpu or something else, also my cpu's four cores show temp of around 83 C, please help.

my system spec is:

GPU: zotac 650 ti boost
CPU: intel core 2 quad q9300(2.5 ghz)
ram: 2 gb DDR2
motherboard: intel dp35dp
PSU: seasonic s12 2 520 watts
monitor : samsung (1680 * 1050)
 
Solution
it could be limited ram as games need more memory if you are suddenly playing games on higher settings with the new card, it could be that your cpu is overheating as 83 is rather hot for a cpu, try checking that your heatsink is clean and clear and check your ventilation in your case that your front case fan is bringing in cold air and your rear case fan is blowing out hot air.

yup i am using the latest stable drivers, also do you think my cpu is bottlenecking my gpu, i played crysis 3 and i am not getting fps as shown by toms benchmarks of 650 ti boost.

no, your cpu is fine. i really think your RAM is the bottleneck.
you only need a dual core CPU to run crysis 3 decently, but at least 3gb ram.

i am 100% certain it is your RAM that is bottlenecking your computer.

what about games crashing, can low amount of ram cause the games to crash, also i would like to know that if furmark burn-in stress test is a a good way to know if your gpu is faulty.

Actually i highly doubt that the problem is anything else. Im pretty sure its ur GPU.

I Have the same problem as you but in a far worse condition.

My System Specs:
GPU: Zotac 650 Ti Boost 2Gb (Driver Version 332.21)
Processor: i7 - 930 ( 2.8Ghz )
MotherBoard: Intel DX58SO
RAM: (3 X 2Gb) 6GB Corsair DDR3 1333
Hard Disk: Kingston HyperX 120Gb Rev.3.0 (6Gb/s) SSD
PC Case: Cooler Master HAF 932
Corsair 750w HX
Display: Dell 24’’(inch) LED Monitor (using at 1920 X 1080)
OS: Genuine Windows 7 Ultimate Edition.
Security Suit: Genuine Eset Smart Security 7

As you can see My Specs are Very Good and High Performance.
Ive searched over and over the internet but could not find any solution at all.Nvidia didnt even bother to reply to my forum post nor did they even tell a solution to this problem.
I finally gave up waiting for help and i did a lot of research myself and experimented a lot until i came up with a Solution myself.

I Had 2 Problems:

Processor over heating and GPU crashing.

First Problem:
Ive been using my Intel i7 930 for like 3 years and i was never ever able to achieve 100% CPU performance cuz of the temperatures hitting 100*C + and 80*C at idle state (PS: My PC never used to crash)

Second Problem:
My old Graphic Card Nvidia GTX 480 got spoilt - colors started distorting and GPU started Artifacting. (PS: PC never crashed)

Then i bought my new Graphic Card, Zotac GTX 650 Ti Boost 2Gb
(After about a week i noticed crashing in games that require a lot of GPU load) . The crashes started becoming more frequent. I couldnt even do the damn Windows 7 Performance BenchMark. PC artifacted and crashed.

SOLUTION / what i did to solve it :

Solution to Problem #1

Reduced the Processor Temperature by 35-50*C....here is how i did it :
I Booted my PC and got into the BIOS.
I went through all the settings my motherboard offered.There was a setting under Performance/Voltage called "V-Drop"
My V-Drop setting was at "Performance Mode" by default. (PS: This is Bad if you are using only your stock CPU cooler)
I changed the V-Drop to (Medium / low) Power Saving Mode.
Next I Switched Off Intel Turbo Boost Feature.
I Switched off all my i7 virtual cores. Only kept the 2 main CPU cores of my processor on, and 1 virtual core each(minimum) thats 4 cores in total only.
Then i changed a setting that said Dynamic Voltage Control,...I turned that "Off" ! and set it to -Hardware specifications.
Then I Switched Off Automatic Fan Control and i set it to run at max at all times.
I set my Processor to Power Saving Mode and Enabled idle state power saving.
I disabled dynamic voltage to C0 and C1
Then i saved my settings and booted my PC.
I Instantly noticed my Temperatures had dropped by about 40-50*C
My Processor was now at (45-50*C) with almost No Noticeable Performance Sacrifice

Solution to Problem #2
My New Zotac 650 Ti Boost 2Gb Graphic Card used to Crash All the time, ....Here's how i Fixed it :

Initially I was Very Confused if it was actually my Graphic Card that was to blame.I was wondering if it was a Power Issue or a Motherboard Issue or maybe even a defective Memory Issue, So what i did first is Narrow down the cause of the problem to find what exactly was causing the problem.

I downloaded a free trial program called "PassMark PerformanceTest"
from: ( http://www.passmark.com/products/pt.htm )

I Immediately Ran The Benchmark.......
This software runs a series of detailed Performance Stress tests on the Processor,RAM,Graphics Etc...
I waited for all the Processor tests to finish first, and it successfully did :) (This made it clear that it was NOT my Processor that was at fault)
Then The memory tests finished successfully,...(This made it clear that it was NOT a memory issue either)
When it went on to the graphic test it passed the initial tests,....and when it reached the 3D tests i noticed my graphic card was gettin hotter and started to take load. When it reached heavy 3D tests of texture load/DirectX test,...the GPU artifacted (Screen filled with a random color, usually white screen or red screen and crashed) :(
I re-booted and did the whole test all over again and realised it failed at the Graphics test again.
(same for the windows 7 Performance Benchmark Test-it failed at the graphic Texture Load test.
By this time it was CLEAR that it WAS my Graphic Cards FAULT.
So what I did to Fix the Issue was: I "Under-Clocked" my Graphic Card.
It was my First Time i'm even attempting changing clock speeds....
I used this SIMPLE Program called "MSI Afterburner"
download from here: ( http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm )
I downloaded the Beta Version to be honest :p
(PS: Even though its called MSI afterburner it can be used on almost any motherboard/graphic card)

I Noticed that the settings already seemed overclocked,...this is because the Zotac GTX 650 Ti Boost is a Factory Over Clocked Graphic Card.
So what i did was i reduced ALL the values to Minimum Except for the Fan Speed which i left at auto control and i saved the settings in Profile 1 and clicked on"APPLY" to activate the settings. I Instantly noticed MAJOR difference in my graphic card :)

For My Zotac GTX 650 when i put all the values to minimum except my Graphic cards fan speeds
the settings looked like this:
Core Voltage (mV) [-100]
Power Limit (%) [ 47 ]
Core Clock (MHz) [-105]
Memory Clock (MHz) [-502]
Fan Speed (%) [42] (Auto Control enabled)
I ran the Bench Mark again and it successfully passed all the tests. :)
(PS: Preferably manually set Fan Speed at MAX when ur gonna do heavy graphic intensive stuff and put it back to auto when u finish.
And Also remember to start MSI After Burner Everytime u start ur PC and load the same settings)

Oh yeah i also opened my Nvidia Control Panel >Manage 3D settings

Antialiasing - FXAA - off
Antialiasing - Gamma correction - off
Antialiasing Mode - off
Antialising setting - none
Antialiasing Transparency - Off
CUDA - GPUs - All

Multi-Display/Mixed GPU acceleration - Single display performance mode

Texture filtering -Anisotrpohic sample optimization - off
Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias - allow
Texture filtering - Quality - High Performance
Texture filtering - Trilinear optimization - On
Threaded Optimization - Auto
Tripple Buffering - Off
Vertical Sync - Adaptive
