Hi guys,so first of all i am really sorry to post this thread here,i don't know where should i have posted such topic on this forum. You can move or delete if necessary,i will totally understand that...

So my problem is,i have recently built my new PC here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1pH0Q and since i'm very low on budget,i can't really afford more on anything unless it is extremely essential for my PC to work properly.I am fully aware that unexpected electricity cuts can harm my software and lose data, but that's not what i'm afraid of,my question is :can hardware be damaged from such cuts or not?

If not, then i'm fine to use PC without UPS
If yes, then please explain what can be damaged and suggest UPS that i can buy for my build,i will be very thankful

Thanks in advance!

Your hardware can't really be damaged by power cuts (excluding the very rare event of a power cut during a BIOS update), but your data and OS can be. Worst case, you have to reinstall Windows, and lose a document. Backups fix these.

I don't use a UPS, but power is pretty reliable where I am (unless it's a really bad storm, or an earthquake).

If you buy a good PSU, you PC will be safe from brownouts. A good one will have a large capacitor so as to not interrupt power during such drops.

Power cuts will not damage your hardware though. The only thing that can go wrong during a power cut is when you are modifying setting in your BIOS. Then it can get corrupted. But even that, you can easily recover it to normal.

I don't think you will need a UPS. Unless there are frequent power cuts where you live, its not worth it.
