what is this virus that slows down games on your pc?

i had this virus that i have no idea how i got but it slowed down games

games ran battlefield 3 70-90 fps on low graphics but then somehow i got 20-30 fps on low not high graphics it was low

so what is this wired virus that i got twice

i went to get it formatted twice and it fixed it but what is it and why is it happing to my pc?

can anyone explain please?

if i were you i would uninstall them both and go for Avast or Avira.
they will do a better job and use less resources. both are good you choose what one you want. :)

personally i have Avast but you choose.

i got it, i have maceff and avg already

they didnt help at all i still get that virus i just didnt know what norton was

I use MSE and malwarebyte sprinkled liberally with common sense

yeah seriously, i almost disowned my girlfriend when she came up to me and asked for my paypal to renew her subscription to norton, i showed her MSE and mbytes. uninstalling norton was as if i was trying to pry a teddy bear from a child's hands.
