Yes bending the pins would be bad, but how did you bend LGA socket pins. Also, you need to specify which E3-1230 you meant. v1 and v2 are by far the most common, but I take it you have a v3.

As for straightening the pins, take a Bic pen and remove the ink stem from it. Use the backside of the stem to straighten the pins, taking care not to touch the exposed socket with your hands.

It's E3-1230 v3 so it's LGA1150 and does it make a big difference if some of the pins in the socket is bent?

There is another possibility - there is a E3-1230 V1/V2 which is listed as a LGA 1155 (socket H2), then there is a V3 which is listed as a LGA 1150 (socket H3) and should be compatible with the motherboard. I would make sure that the motherboard has the latest bios update first, then verify that the processor you have is indeed a V3 for the socket 1150 board.

After that, make sure the memory matches - the E3-1230 supports up to 32GB of DDR31333/1600 EEC memory.

I have straightened up the pins now and it all worked out perfectly thanks all, and one more problem is that my monitor isn't detecting my pc? It's plugged into my display card
