Which of these two cards will provide better performance for gaming? I must choose between the two at the same price, but after searching online I can't make a decision.

The 7670M seems to be superior according to certain comparisons, but some are saying that the 8670M is better.

I'm not looking for a great performance, but I have to choose between these two.

The HD 7670M is an OEM rebadge of the HD 6550M. They are identical in every way except in the name. The HD 6650M is itself a downclocked version of the HD 6570 (desktop version) which uses the older VLIW5 architecture first used in AMD's HD 5000 series products rather than the cleaner VLIW4 architecture used in high end HD 6900 series products.

The HD 8670M is not a...

The 8670M will be better but not by much. The 8xxx series is a rebranded 7xxx series part, but is clocked a bit higher, making it a bit faster. However the difference will not be too significant. Since they are the same price, get the 8670M.

Thanks for the answer, but I'm confused by comparisons such as this one.
http://www.game-debate.com/gpu/index.php?gid=1497&gid2=773&compare=radeon-hd-8670m-vs-radeon-hd-7670m

It shows that the cards are different in many areas, but I don't know which of those have a greater impact on performance. Is the 8670M better no matter what the purpose is?

The HD 8670M is not a rebadge, but rather a full set of moble GPUs based on the GCN architecture featured in the HD 7700-7900 series desktop GPUs. The HD 8670M is a slightly downclocked HD 7730. If you look up a comparison between the HD 6570 and the HD 7730 you should get an approximation for the difference between the HD 7670M and HD 8670M.

I hate marketing departments.

Here's the thing: laptop GPUs vary a lot between OEMs. One OEM can use GDDR5 while another can use DDR3. That's the main difference. Technically they could both be GDDR5 or both could be DDR3 or whatever. As for you, just remember that GDDR5 is wayyyyyy better then DDR3. If you can figure out what type of memory your GPUs have, then that would make the decision for you. If they are equal, go for the 8670M. If not, pick the GPU that has GDDR5. This may be tough info to find out, but if you search the laptop model you may be able to find out, you might not though. I hope you find out your answer and I hope this helps!

I finally went for the 8670M. Time will tell if it was a good choice. The graphics card wasn't the most important factor, anyway, so whatever's the result I'll be fine. For now, it looks like it does the job.

Thanks to everyone.

In response to this i will say that amd 7670m is better, just check their benchmark results fool,
the bus size of amd 8670m is just the half of amd 7670m
