Minecraft specs needed

I need to know what specs your computer needs to play minecraft on extreme settings with a realistic texturepack.
I want to completely max everything out.
My specs:
Processor: 3.6GHz FX-series quad core fx 4100
Ram: 8gb DDR3
Hard drive: 1024 GB Sata 111
Graphics card: NVIDIA GT610

I can't do the things I want minecraft to do for some reason. I am upgrading my hard drive and Psu later.

any modern system with a GPU will do it. I'm talking like core2duo with a low-mid range GPU.

I wouldn't be surprised if you could also max out minecraft on an AMD apu or HD 4000/5000.

EDIT:: I was thinking low resolution. I don't want to say that 1080p minecraft runs great on integrated graphics, but I assumed if it's the only game you're playing it's at a low native res. :< you probably need a better gpu

I am talking about maximum settings and incredibly detailed texture packs and shaders with absolutely no lag.

unless there is a CryENGINE mod (crysis) for minecraft it's not going to be a huge difference.

are you running it in 64-bit Java?. What is your budget and how good is your PSU?

If you are having problems right now it is probably either your GPU or software configuration.

Games like Skyrim and battlefield. Do you know why the specs I have now can't do what I want?

I just switched it to 64 bit. I don't know if that was the problem or not. Can my specs make me play minecraft the way I want with no lag?

the best guess way to determine performance is to divide the relative power of your part by your screen resolution. IE a low end GPU and mid-low range CPU (in gaming terms) driving a ?low? or ?high? resolution screen is going to have accodingly low or high performance. (as a rule of thumb)

It heavily depends on your resolution. There are people with somewhat similar specs on that minecraft hardware page that get 50-100+ fps on 1280x720. If you are playing on 1920x1080 in comparison, you are going to need about 225% the hardware power. (~2073600 pixels (hi-res screen) vs ~922000 pixels (low-res screen) )

If you have a high resolution screen than your best bet is to look for a GPU that is higher up in the hierarchy. I would check the Tom's GPU comparison articles and see what matches up with my screen resolution. Then it's just a matter of finding what its peers are and which ones that work are on a steep discount/are affordable price/perfomance ;) .

This is where you will see the largest possible performance increase. good place to start

My screen resolution is 1280x1024. Does that explain anything?
