It is a beast for gaming and overclocking. If you want to lower the price just get a cheaper cooler.
I'm assuming you're gaming, but I think if you're overclocking then go with the FX, if you're not only gaming, then go FX, if you play current and older games then go i5, if you want to play the latest games for the life of the rig then probably FX. If you don't plan on upgrading for a long time then go FX. I think it might be wise to look at my rig, but its your build :)
