I have an AMD FX-8120 and when I stress test it with Prime95, the core temps steadily rise until it hits 68C and then drop to 61C and stay there. I can't tell that the processor is doing this because it is showing 116 watts. Is the BIOS throttling the processor to cool it down?
I have screen shots of CPUID and Speccy. How do I attach the pictures?

Sounds odd.. And you haven't overclocked before on this PC? If not, i think you should try to lower your volts in BIOS. But again, prime95 tests your CPU's at MAXIMUM. You should try out BF3 (if you own a copy) and see if the temps are the same. They will definetly not exceed 60c. Staying below 61c is safe, and will not damage your CPU.

So before doing anything, try out battlefield 3, or any other CPU demanding game, and see the temps there.

Sorry I didn't mention this. I have a Coolermaster Hyper 212EVO. I haven't overclocked anything. 100% stock.

I attached the cooler with arctic silver 5 and put the right amount on and everything. the cooler is on there solid. I have another computer with a Phenom 955 with the same cooler and paste and attachment and it doesn't get over 58C.
