Hello Good folks of Tomshardware, who have indirectly helped alot of times by helping others.

I have never been here, never needed to be. )Someone had already asked someone had already answered.)

I need advice on a PC build
My Current build is simple

Core2duo e8400 3.0 Ghz
Intel DG41CN
2*2 Kingston normal Ram( max Bandwidth 400MHZ) each
Hard disk Primary is (WD5000AAKX) Click for specs.
And MSI cyclone 450 GTS.
550W PSU.

Although i can play pretty much every game i have gotten, its time to upgrade.

Now i am getting
An i5 Model:3570

but can you suggest which board will be better?
These are available:
Intel DH77eb board OR Asus p8h77-mle OR asus P8h77-vle? VLE costs 40$ more.

And which ram?
I was thinking of this and this is easily available here.
Corsair vengeance
Or is a better Ram available in the same price range by kingston?
i tried looking up,but hyperX has sooo many different types.
And i dont think i can use my old ram with this ram, Coz it will bottle neck this ram too right? Not sure.

getting a new hdd
WD2tb Green
And Seagate 2tb one is available too, dont know model though.

Which among these?
and Should i shift OS from the old hdd( having lower buffer size) transfer rate from buffer to disk 126 Mb/s to new WD Green one having bigger buffer size and transfer rate (buffer to host) 6Gb/s

Finally the Graphic Card.
I think a GTX 660 is good? GTX 760 is 50$ more
I have 19 inch HPL1908wm When ever i up the resolution of anything to 1900 it says "input signal out of range"
I guess it cant handle it. its cool 1600 etc is fine. But is there a something i havnt done?
Oh and since all those cards come with DisplayPorts, and LCD doesnt have one.
Will the DisplayPort quality degrade if i use one of those converter cables?
Displayport to VGA/DVI ones?

Also the Radeon HD 7870 is really hard to get here.
I think that Covers everything.

Thanks

Solution

Thanks for reply.
Yes by switch OS i meant reinstalling it on the New one WD GREEN.
And nope my current one is also sata 3, Does buffer size make a big difference?
So i should use a display port to DVI...

Hello ,your upgrade seems nice. Nice choice btw.

What you mean by switch os? With my understanding, just reinstall your os on the new HDD because it is faster than your old HDD ( sata3 vs ide(i think?)) and it will increase boot speed and daily usage

Graphics card, 660 can play most games in great quality, nice choice.

Display ports are using digital signal and VGA are using analog signal. Quality will degrade if you convert display port to VGA

But, if you convert it to DVI, there should be no problem :)

Hope this helps

A 3570 is a good choice, if you are not going to overclock you really don't need the 3570K. Corsair Vengeance is good RAM, but is sometimes overpriced. But the prices for the Vengeance 1600MHz seems good. Also you probably won't be able to tell the difference in video quality from DVI, HDMI, or displayport. But VGA will look worse

Should i rephrase question to get more replies?

If you do not OC then best buy is intel xeon 1230V2 for 1155 build. If you go to 1150 build then it is maybe not so good choice take xeon. It is so much expensive (xeon 1230V3)

GTX 760 is better choice because if you do SLI later then two 760 is faster than titan!
Buy SSD good one is sandisk ultra plus. 128Gb or 256Gb. Bigger is better.

Is overclocking easy enough to do? There isnt much difference in price btw 3570 or 3570K. Just 20$ here.
My monitor has a DVi port, when i use DVI cable it get set to native resolution (1440*900).
All higher resolution seem Not sharp and clear, so i used VGA again.
any idea about HDD too?

thanks sir for the reply.

Nope they are the same, so if you already have an HDD keep using it. Let me know how the build goes :D.

SSD's are only available on order here, and too much expensive+ shipping too.
Wont i need 2 PCI slots to do SLI? Hmm GTX760 seems upgraded version of 660.
But Which GTX 760 then? Asus? MSI? EVGA?

Overclocking is easier than you think. Here's a guide to get you started.

You should get this one, and yes you would need 2 PCI ports for SLI.
