Help me decide what to upgrade ($300-$400)

So basically I am looking for some advice as to what I should upgrade on my pc for best bang for buck. The focus is gaming. Not one specific game, just want the best performance for a range of games (Skyrim, Guild Wars 2, plus a bunch of new and upcoming stuff on Steam). I also use the PC as a HTPC, but Im already covered spec wise, so the upgrade is just for gaming.

I have the below setup now, which goes to my TV (not ideal but I dont have space to connect up to a new monitor)

Please can people chip in with what I should focus on upgrading, and recommend specific parts. I am thinking the GPU and processor are the obvious things to look at, but am open to other suggestions. Thanks!

Current setup:
Gigabyte EP-35-DS3l
Intel Dual Core E7200 2.53GHz
Visiontek Radeon HD 5670
4GB Corsair XMS2 800Mhz (4X1gb)
Thermaltake Purepower 500W PSU
250gb Seagate Barracuda 7200 HD
Samsung Spinpoint F4EG 2 TB SATA2 5400rpm 32 MB Hard Drive
NZXT Alpha CS-NT-ALP-WOW Tower

Get an fx-6300 and a $60 motherboard. Use the USe the extra money to get a good GPU ( gtx650ti or hd7790). This should leave enough money to get 4gb ddr3 RAM and a 500w corsair cx500 PSU because that thermaltake isn't very good.

OK thanks for the speedy suggestion. Is there anything I should look for in the motherboard I get?
After your GPU suggestion, I was looking at the gtx650ti Boost 2GB card - seems to be good bang for buck?
