So I bought this Tenda A3 because my computers are getting poor reception on the other end of the house from the Zoom 5350. I can't the thing setup to save my life and I am following the (poorly written) instruction manual to a 'T'.

I can get the computer to talk to the A3, but doesn't seem like anything is getting passed it to the router and the internet. I should mention I have been trying to do it wirelessly. I tried wiring it into the router and making it a separate access point, but that put it like 2 feet away from the router, and it had an even worse signal!

So basically what I have done is this:

1) Plug it in where I want it turn it on.

2) Change the IP address on the computer to a 192.168.0.x, where 'x' is between 2 and 253. I have been using 100 or 99. (This step so you can access the A3 and supposedly configure it)

3) Chose the Tenda A3 from my list of wireless networks.

4) Login to the A3.

5) Enable WDS Bridge.

6) Have it scan for my home wireless network so that it imports the correct channel, SSID, and MAC.

7) Add the exact security info as is on the home wireless network. Have to do this, otherwise it just shows two have the same network in your wireless networks list... and the manual says they have to match exactly.

8) Go into Zoom 5350 and enable WDS and add the A3's MAC to it.

9) Go back to the A3, and change it's IP address to 192.168.0.2 from 0.254, because the router's IP address is 0.1. I read somewhere that the A3 should be one more than the router.

10) Verify the DNS and Gateway IP (192.168.0.1) match between router and A3.

11) Let it reboot.

12) Nothing. Can't search the internet. Can only access the A3 and mess with parameters.

Any suggestions?

As for the computer IP, I leave it at static. If I change it back to "Find Automatically" or whatever, you can't do anything -- even access the A3. I leave it's Gateway IP at 0.1 (but I have also tried 0.2). I have been leaving the DNS blank.
