I got Far Cry 3 maybe a week ago and addicted to it so far. The thing is that it pisses me off so much and alot of other people too apparently because this problem is happening to probably everyone else playing it on pc. Sometimes when i try to look around by moving my mouse normally, it stutters and lags, sometimes it doesnt even respond at all and i end up standing there like a dumbass. Its worse in firefights because it can get you killed easily. I havent found any definate solutions or answers yet. I know this game was poorly ported over from consoles to pc so the game can lag and stutter randomly on pc. Oh, by the way, its not my fps, its not a low fps problem, its like the mouse doesnt respond to the game well at times, i think its called input lag/stutter. Any help or feedback? Thanks!

Hello DarkDubzs,
I am pretty sure that this problem is due to Graphics Card.
For now just lower Some Graphics settings
or if you wanna enjoy to the fullest Just update your Graphics Card.
I am sure this will work
Please choose this as Best solution

V-sync can be the cause of mouse lag sometimes. Low FPS can as well. I personally never noticed much mouse lag in FC3, unless I have a low FPS spike on very rare occasion. However, I did notice a lot of situations where there was a lot of latency between pressing shoot, and a gun actually firing. This was also a bit random.

In the OP i already said it isnt because of FPS so it cant be my gpu. Ive already tried even playing on Low settings, it doesnt help. It is like an input response problem, the game just doesnt respond to my mouse movements sometimes

Its not because of low FPS. I even tried playing on Low setting and it didnt help the mouse lag. I dont ususally lag in FPS, the problem is that sometimes the game doesnt respond to my mouse movement sometimes. I never have experienced high latency or lag from when i hit a button on my keyboard or click my mouse to shoot, to when it happens in the game. It only stutters from when i move my mouse to look around, not move or shoot.

You said it can't be your FPS, yet do not mention what your FPS are. Perhaps you can tell us what your FPS are and have you tried it with v-sync on?

Just because you try it at low settings does not mean FPS are not a problem. Low settings don't always help FPS if you have a bottleneck somewhere else, like your CPU which I see is one of the APU's from AMD, which are quite, if not extremely slow compared to the competition.

I usually have around 55+ fps normally and can go as low as maybe 40 sometimes. All on Ultra with no anti-aliasing, turned down PostFX to High, at 1080p. Yeah, i think my cpu might be bottlenecking the gpu as i feared, so i might be upgrading to an AMD FX-8320 or an FX-6300, either of which with an ASRock 990FX Extreme3 .

Thanks, ive already seen both of those while searching for answers. I tuned off Mouse Acc. which did help a little i think, but it still stutters sometimes and refuses to respond sometimes. The second link from the ubisoft forums probably wont work and everyone says it didnt work, its not worth the risk. It probably wont work, because the problem seems to be because Ubisoft ported the game over to PC from console without properly using DirectX to have the game work smoothly on PC's. I honestly think there isnt a definite way to fix this since its like an internal software problem :( BTW, i have Adaptive V-Sync enabled from GeForce Experience because i have a GeForce GTX card. If i enable V-sync in the game options, it lags so horribly, off and it tears incredibly, adaptive v-sync has been amazing with little or no tearing and great FPS for my rig i believe.

I have the same issue and cannot offer a fix. However, I can offer an explanation that I have read on other post that seems likely. If someone is more knowledgeable about this topic please feel free to correct me. It has to do with developers taking shortcuts to create multi-platform games. They develop the game to run on a console and then when they port it to PC, instead of taking the time to polish and rewrite certain parts of the game to interact natively with Direct X they simply use a sort of translator which requires more time to work. A majority of people don't notice it because they have slow hardware and their brains are use to the lag. It drives me crazy to the point that I won't even play the game even though I want to.

Just FYI: I get about 55FPS on ultra settings and I can peak at about 80FPS on low setting. I also have a 120hz monitor.
