Have you installed an OS yet?

No, I'm trying to. When I put the OS disk in it still sits at my bios. So idk if I did something wrong with my hard drive or something else

Hmm... Check to see if your optical drive is top priority on your boot list.

Hmm I don't think it is. There are no priorities

If your BIOS isn't reporting any devices to boot to, perhaps you should double-check your cable connections. For instance, if you're installing your OS to an SSD, connect it to a SATA 3 port and disconnect all other hard drives until after your OS install. Then, you should see your hard drive in the boot list.

Hmm it's weird. I feel it might be a wiring problem then. But I thought I had it all right xD one sec.

My friend said I need to format my hard drive on another computer. Is that true?

Regardless of the format, it should still be detected in your BIOS. It will be formatted to the appropriate file system during the OS install.

Alright, so it's probably something with my wiring?

I think it could be a few things: wiring, motherboard, hard drive or some obscure setting in your BIOS.

Also, what is the storage capacity of your hard drive. Asrock MOBOs need to use a special utility to unlock 3TB+ drives.

Also, updating your bios might not hurt either. There is an option to update it in the BIOS itself.

It's only 1tb and alright I'll check it out. I connected my sata cables together from my cd rom to my hard drive but my friend said that was wrong. He said that I need to wire my sata wires to my motherboard. But I don't see slots for those.
