I don't think the 1st one will play it at all due to the graphics card the secong though not great should be able to play it at least. Note if you want to upgrade the GPU later you will need a new power supply as well so you may as well custom build and save $200+ at least. If you cannot custom build get a PC custom built for you so you can get something that works without having to upgrade it. http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/ are one company that will do this. Try to get an FX6300 + a GTX 650Ti Boost (avoid non Ti and non boost cards) as a minimum but aim for an i5 or FX8350 + GTX760 if you can afford it (unlikely unless you self build).
neither, they are both massively underpowered on the gpu side. swap the ram for 8GB swap the i7 for an i5, swap the 2TB for 1TB and you might have enough cash to buy a 660ti or a 670 on sale and then it would be awesome. (not sure enough on the AMD offerings to suggest a specific card)

But which one would play dayZ better? I am going to upgrade the GPU about a month or so after I buy one.

they are both poorly balanced even excluding the gpu issues. i7's are not needed for gaming, i5's are perfectly fine and since Overclocking is so simple, why not get the K series.

buy it without the gpu, the onboard gpu on the i5/i7 is better than the 610. dayz does like an ssd though, it seems to be quite disk intensive.

I'm buying a complete system :/ so what one would give the best performance?

I'm in Australia, and they don't ship to here.

My friend has the same build as the first one but with a 630 2GB, and he runs dayZ at 30-40 FPS in towns.

the thing is my gtx580 and a 3570k @ 4.3 run dayz at 60fps on an empty server, 60fps on an empty part of a server, 25fps when there is a helicopter nearby, 40-60fps in normal play, and yet neither are bottlenecking the other. So for dayz there are so many other factors to consider.

Being in Australia, I don't really have a big range and I really don't want to custom build my own, just because I don't want to risk breaking so etching important.

I have a budget of $1000, can anyone direct me to a store with a computer that would give me 40+ FPS through general play.

Thank you.
But I am going to go for the i7 I listed above because it comes with a wifi card, 16 GB RAM and 2TB HDD. Then buy a GTX650ti in about a month or two.

put money aside for a new PSU.

+1 get a new PSU with it and get the 650Ti boost its so much better than the plain 650Ti and doesn't cost that much more. Also consider changing the PSU in a pre built machine especially if its an OEM (ie dell HP etc) may be harder than building a PC from scratch as the case can be very tight for space.
