Half of this question isn't related to storage but the question is the same so I thought I'd just throw it all in one thread. Anyways, here we go. I bought a WD Caviar Black 2TB hard drive and an LG 12x BD optical drive and they were both OEM. This is my first time building so I was wondering what cords or anything else do I need to make everything work? I want to make sure I have everything I need when I start building.

This is my full build if any other info is needed: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1pGPr

OEM just means you only get the drive, no flashy packaging, cables or instruction manuals.
You need a SATA cable for each, power will be attached to the PSU. Check unboxings or reviews of your motherboard to see how many SATA cables come with it, if you dont have enough then you will have to buy some aftermarket.
Hi

you need to research the motherboard package to see how many SATA data cables are included

(usually at least one in motherboard box)

[you need two]

Are you buying a retail boxed or OEM Intel cpu

if retail and you are not over clocking the CPU
then the Intel heat sink/ fan will do

Alright. Thank you. My motherboard only comes with two so I guess I need to purchase one. Is there a certain brand or manufacturer that I should buy the cable from or does it not matter all that much?
