I'm picking out ram for a Xeon E3-1200 v3 system that I'm building, and I'm looking at these two seemingly equivalent choices:

KVR16R11D4K4/32
KVR16R11D4K4/32I

They seem to be completely identical except for the "I" at the end of the product name, which apparently stands for "Intel."

What exactly does that mean, I wonder? (On newegg the "Intel" version costs $6 extra dollars)

[If it's any matter, the motherboard that I'm getting is the ASUS P9D WS]

Solution
Im guessing here .... but manufacturers pay for testing in order toi get on manufacturer's compatibility or QVL lists .... Im thinking Kingston pehaps wants to recoup their costs for the testing.
