I am trying to run gothic 2 on my acer m5.

when I run the game in the options it recognizes just the intel igpu 4000 resulting in a slow and choppy gameplay.

how do I enable my nvida 640m???

please help.

Most of these "hybrid" laptop system use the intel GPU for all basic windows stuff, youtube, etc. Then it "supposed" to switch to the gtx GPU when it detects a DirectX game. I said "supposed" to because it doesn't always, or if it's an older game, it might not trigger the switch. Not sure if there is a lot you can do.

Check the nvidia site for GPU drivers. That issue aside however, the HD Graphics 4000 should be far more than enough power to play a game that old. Try running the game in compatibility mode.

actually the nvidia driver is the latest one. I use the envidia geforce experience and it does not actually recognize the game. the other ones (grid2 , gothic 3, sleeping dogs) are all recognized, except this one. I tried to force that utility to recognize it but it does not.

I am getting so frustrated, I am trying to play the night of the raven expansion that I missed to play some years ago but I just cannot do it with the integrated useless igpu.
