About 1 week ago i build my first gaming desktop, specs:

i5 3570k (non oc)
sapphire hd 7870 oc ghz edition (1050 clock, 1250 memory clock)
corsair gs700
500gb hdd
120gb sdd

I always get blue screen when trying to oc my gpu, no matter which program i use:
msi afterburner, sapphire trixx, amd overdrive...
what can i do to fix it?
can you guys give me settings to overclock?
even when i increase gpu clock to 1150 and memory clock to 1300 i get the blue screen.

Sapphire has two versions of It's 7870 OC edition.

- It's first version ran with a stock voltage of 1.218 Volts but I've seen it working flawlessly with less (Depending on the card of course). It came with Sapphire stickers on the fans.
- Second version had the PCB slighly redistributed and added a different cooling solution with DualX stickers on the fans. This card ran at 1.250 Volts stock.

Mainly, the first version was reviewed with very positive results both on stock performance and Overclocking potential.

But I have not seen many reviews based on the second generation (Which came out as a revision after the black-screen incident on the original) and It's overclocking headroom is seriously limited.

In order to push the boundaries of the OC in card you have, you should download GPU-Z and check which of both versions you have, so that playing around with TRIXX, Afterburner or even CCC's Overdrive becomes an easier task.
