MY CPU: i5-4670k
Motherboard: z87 extreme4

So this is my first try and I'm absolutely terrified right now.
I've ligned the 2 indentation and checked the arrow, then let the CPU fall gently into the motherboard. But Jesus Christ the pressure I have to use on the lever to close it. I couldn't just push down.

There are now fucking marks on the CPU, Oh god did I just royally screw up? Am I fucked? Oh my god. What did I do wrong? Please help
Are my PINS okay? Is my CPU still okay?

Thanks for the reply, went just fine, even though i was really struggling with the damned Hyper Evo Cooler. I ran the Prime95 Stresstest for 1 hour, stock CPU no overclocks. System seems stable, but had peaks of 73 Degrees, average was like 65C. Is my system fine?

So which increases can I expect from going from the stock thermal paste of the EVO to the arctic silver thermal paste?
Also I probably shouldn't consider overclocking a little, even in these conditions right?

Welp I'll then later refresh my thermal paste.

If you OC, then get a CPU cooler naturally. If it's not a lot, then it can be harder to justify

a CPU cooler. Thermal paste will only change a few degrees. But that's important for some.

If you're not going to OC, getting a K edition CPU was a waste really.
