For the Ram: I would go with this one-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428. With the promo code, it is $60 bucks and it matches the motherboards memory standard according to newegg. The Core i3 3220 will most likely be fine, but if you can, you should go with a combo like this-http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1417914.
It is $65 more for the CPU but it...

shouldn't be a problem. you can play games on high setting's for at least 2 years with that setup. but instead of 660Ti go with GTX 760. it should be a little more expensive but it should perform a little better.

Hello. First, how much is the motherboard? Post a link to where you are gonna buy it from. Also, what ram are you looking at? The graphics card should be could for at least 1 year so that's no problem at all.

The gtx 760 is currently the same price and cheaper than some of the gtx 660ti gpus on newegg right now. Just so you know. I just purchased my 760 for $260.

I would go with an FX 6300 over an i3. Games are going forward are going to be making more use of more cores. FX can overclock and an i3 cannot. AM3+ has at least one more processor line coming. 1155 is a dead socket now that Haswell is out and there are no i3 Haswells yet. I also agree on the GTX 760 suggestion.

You are right about the cores thing specially in mp heavy games, but aren't there any heating or power concerns with amd cpus?
Though i3 has 2 core, but it hyperthreads them to get virtual 4 cores. Everyone Please correct me if i'm wrong! :)

It is $65 more for the CPU but it is a 4th gen core i5 and will give a better chance for longer future proof.

I do not know to much about SSDs. From my understanding they are much faster and quiter. This is a good site that weighs the advantages and disadvantages of SSDs-http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2404260,00.asp. Personally, I do not feel that they are worth the cost yet. I do not want to pay $100 + for 128 GB of data when I can get a WD blue 1 TB for $70. They definitely have advantages though. It depends on what matter most to you and your budget. For me, it comes down to budget with my choices usually. As for the best SSD, like I said I don't know much so I couldn't recommend one. Sorry.

There are plenty on here that have AMD and have no issues. I wouldn't overclock on the stock cooler any. You can get a Coolermaster 212 for under $30. i3 is a dual core with hyperthreading. It does not have turbo and cannot be overclocked at all. Real cores > virtual cores in multitasking. A gtx 760 can be purchased for less than an MSI 660ti you were mentioning. What is your total budget and what parts are you needing for sure?

hyperthreading i3 gives 4 thread's not core's. plus game's have to be coded to take advantage of the extra 2 thread's, but only few games take advantage of hyper threading. so its best that you take AMD FX 6300 like everyone suggests.

ok then talking more realistically in terms of FPS, how many frames it may differ from going to fx 6300 from i3 3220 with the 660 ti? Like on average? If you want an example, take one as BF3 and other as Watch Dogs or Skyrim

Thanks man. I too basically think the same way regarding ssd as they are expensive!
