Im trying to build a system for my grandad. Specs:
Gigabyte F2A85XM-D3h (rev 1.1)
AMD A10 6800k
4GB ram
120 GB SSD

When I installed windows everything runs fine - but when I install the catalyst drivers (for decent screen resolution) it works for about 10s when I log in (no problem until after I log in to windows), then the screen kind of breaks up (I can still basically see everything) but the mouse doesnt work, nothing is selectable, then the machine reboots.

I thought at first it might be a power supply problem (the case came with a cheap 500W supply) so bought a decent coolermaster 500w one. Same problem.

Ive re-installed the drivers making sure I have the correct ones after fully uninstalling it. Still same problem.

Is this likely to be a dodgy APU? anything else I could try?

A simple solution to check would be boot using the linux live cd and check if it runs fine or not.

Hmm, ubuntu off a flash disk seems to run ok.
Can only assume its a driver issue then.... any ideas?

Here is What you need to do:

1)Do one thing Run in safe Mode Uninstall Drivers(graphics one only)

2) Boot in normal mode and Check if it works.

3) If not then the Download Drivers from Internet and Re install them and see if it works.

4) If not then it might be corrupt windows issue.
