Hello,

i got a computer from a friend. the computer had worked but they took the harddisk for their own use. he worked before i got the computer without harddisk. only the harddisk is missing. I installed wndows 7 ultimate x64. Everything was alright. i plugged my dvi cable in my gigabyte geforce 220 and i could use the video card on the resolution i wanted. I downloaded a driver from the gigabyte site (for the geforce 220) and installed it. before i did this i had 1 unknown device in my device manager. i restarted my pc after the installation and the installation went well. when my pc did reboot i cant play any game because the driver didnt found my video card. i checked the bios and i saw that the onboard vga not was turned on. i de-installed the driver and tried it again with a driver from the nvidia site (for the geforce 220). still the same problem and i still have that same unknown device there. this gave the error:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.

To find a driver for this device, click Update Drivers

then i opened the properties at the nvidia geforce 220 driver and there it says:

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

after some search i asked a friend if i could borrow his video card, trying if it works on my pc. i reinstalled my windows and put it (zotac geforce gt 630 4gb synergy) in my pc. i installed the driver from the cd that came with the video card and again i get the same problem. before installing the driver there was 1 unknown device and after the driver installation i have in my device manager a nvidia geforce gt 630 driver with a yellow triangle and that unknown device (which is the video card). again checked my bios and no problems there. i uninstalled the driver and i used the driver which i got from windows update. it doesnt work. after that i tried windows xp professional 64 bit and still the same problem. vista home premium 64 bit also doesnt work. im really desperate because i want to play some games on my computer but i cant (the onboard videocard isnt that good). I put it in the only pci express x16.

If i open my nvidia controll center it says:

you are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU

im pretty sure that the unknown device is my video card

if i open cmd and use : sfc /scannow than it says: windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations.

there isnt a solution on internet. i hope you know something
