Want to upgrade my rig with a intel i7 4770k cpu. Is it a good buy? Can you suggest any
motherboard which is compatible with this cpu. I’m looking for the asus sabertooth z87 but not sure. Which will be the best ?
I’m just going to gaming, I have a laptop for other works. just gaming on this.

And yes after seeing lots of review about graphics cards I decided to go with Asus nvidia 780. is there any cards from amd at this budget? may be the 7990 ?

Solution
Sabertooth z87 is overpriced maybe for its armour. More expensive motherboards won't give you more fps in games , and the armour on the mobo serves no purpose other than looking good. I would recommend the Gigabyte UD3H, it's cheaper and will do exactly what the sabertooth does. You Ask about the BEST Gaming Mobo for intel 4th genes .. If Money isn't a problem to you, My answer Is ASUS Z87 MAXIMUS EXTREME VI..Go For it.

For the CPU, if you're only gaming, I would recommend an Intel i5-4670k instead of the i7. It'll get you the exact same gaming performance, but it'll cost you 100$ less.

Now the gpu. a 780 is fine and the best till the date. I’ll recommend to the gigabyte one it comes with three fans. Means more cooling performance.

Are you sure about these? and i don't have the money to buy the extreme. gigabyte then. and why no to 7990. saw some review and every where i saw i can get 40-35% more gaming performance.

yes i'm sure about that. wait for a while and you can see 90% is saying the same.

MIND IT. you're comparing a single gpu card with a dual gpu card.. 7990 is having two 7970 on the same board.

reason why no to 7990- dual gpu means more heat issue. we never suggest dual gpu cards to anyone unless he is having 1 or 2 gcard slots. buy the 780 now and you can buy another one after two years when the price will drop.
