I've just built my first PC, and all is well save my monitor randomly going black for 3-5s. This happens when navigating the desktop, browsing chrome, and most problematically, when gaming. It's as if the monitor goes to sleep for a moment, but everything else continues running. I'd estimate it happens about once an hour, but isn't linked to anything I've noticed.

My monitor is a 27" Monoprice 1440p IPS-Glass Pro (or something to that effect). The original 27" BenQ 27XLT20 (1080p) monitor I used had this problem as well.

I'm running a 3770k, EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX (newest 320.49 drivers), Samsung 840 Pro, Corsair A860i with a week old Windows 7 install. Problem has persisted since first post-Win 7 install.

Temps appear excellent, and while I'm no voltage expert my PSU seems rock solid according to Corsair Link V2.

In searching for a solution, I found numerous threads concerning this issue (dating to 2002 I think) but no solutions.

Perhaps some fresh eyes will help. Thanks in advance for any insights regarding this. I probably wouldn't be this concerned, but as a racing sim enthusiast, this could easily ruin a 2 hr.+ race.
