Doing my first "full upgrade"

Hi All,

I'm looking to replace most of the components of my current gaming computer. The case is a CoolerMaster Cosmos S and it has a 750W Corsair PSU.

I will be replacing the motherboard, GPUs, processor, and RAM.

The reason for my post is that I'd like to know what your thoughts are about the process--I've installed a GPU, RAM, PSU, Fan, Optical, and Hard Drive before, but never a motherboard/processor.

My big question: Is there something inherently different with a motherboard/processor installation that I should consider before doing the upgrade myself? Is there anything I will want to make sure that I have or do before I get started, to ensure success?

Here's what will be going in:

Z87 mobo
i5-4670k processor
GTX760
16GB Corsair DDR3 RAM

I am assuming the motherboard comes with all of the wires/jacks that will need to be installed? And once the motherboard is installed, will I need to do anything in the BIOS before installing after booting up Windows?

Thanks in advance for your feedback and advice.

There is going to be a SSD in the computer. I'll have the mounting kit.

So I should start with only one of the 8gb sticks installed?

Out of curiosity, is the 770 that much better than the 760? The $130 difference between the two... you feel it's worth it? On paper I feel like I'd be better served putting that money into more RAM, but then again, I don't know a whole lot about hardware.

You're probably right about the 128gb being enough.
