So, I am not very experience with the OC, nor do I really want to mess around with it much. But I just bought a new pc and it has OC genie. I am wondering if this is safe to use?

I have a hyper evo 212, i5 4670k and my motherboard is a MSI Z87-G45.

As long as you read the instructions on how to use it I would think that you will be fine. If it doesn't work it's not like it would damage anything it would just not work and you could either call their tech support or not use it and overclock the normal way.
Usually these things are tested at the factory before they add these features to a motherboard and the OC Genie has been a MSI feature for a while now.

Thanks for the reply. I clicked it on for a few mins. it raised my idle temp by about 5c. I am just too paranoid I guess. So long as it doesn't have a reputation for doing something wrong I feel confident with your answer! Thank you

Any time you overclock there will be a raise in the temps there's no getting away from that. If the OC Genie gives you the boost in clock speed that your looking for then your performance will be a bit better. I'm not that familiar with MSI and if there are any further adjustments that can be made for a higher clock but you can always do your own overclock if you get some confidence and do some more research. Once you get a general understanding it isn't that hard.
