Hi, I built a pc the other day, and all was well until I tried to turn it on today. When I would press the power button all the fans would spin, but the cpu fan looked like it was going to but didnt, the gpu fan was spinning. This happens for about 1 second before the whole pc shuts down and tries to repeat with the same results. I've tried taking the case power switch off the mobo to see if it was sticking, but that wasn't the case. I've checked all connections and they are fine. Sometimes the pc boots up then it shuts off after 5 minutes if im lucky. Yesterday it was fine I even played some csgo on it. Any help is appreciated thanks.

Specs:

Antec basiq 450w psu
Intel g2030
Msi case (forgot model)
Msi h61m e33/w8 mobo
His 7770 ghz edition
4gb ddr3 ram 1333mhz
Wd 750gb black scorpio hard drive

I also forgot to mention I reset cmos and that didnt work either.

If the CPU fan not moving the mb shutting down to save the CPU. Check that you have the CPU fan wires on the CPU fan header. If you do and nothing moves try the fan port the CPU fan won't slow down but it tell you that the fan is working. On the fan check that the wires not pinched or cut.
On some mb with old bios the ram speed can't be set right and the mb goes into a reboot loop. If it a reboot loop take one dimm out so there just one dimm and update the mb bios. The last part could be a weak or cheap power supply.

Im not home right now but when i get home ill try plugging the cpu fan into a system fan slot and see if that works. Right now it is plugged into the cpu fan slot.

I unplugged the cpu fan header and plugged it back into the cpu fan 1 it came out of and for some reason it is working! Im going to watch it and see if it does it again, but i dont think the header was correctly plugged in, when i checked the connections it looked fine, but i guess it wasnt, thanks everyone for the help!
