Whenever i plug in my Xbox 360 controller for Windows, the controller shows the 4 green lights and Windows gives an error sound, but when i plug in my PS3 controller that controller works fine. and yes, i have the drivers installed, it just doesn`t work, most of my games won`t work with PS3 controllers, only with Xbox Controllers and the mouse and keyboard, but some don`t have the button layout on the keyboard all that well(example: Sonic Adventure DX which has a setup screen that doesn`t work).

As said above if it is wireless you have to sync the controller to the receiver. Check in the Device Manager if the wireless controller is installed correctly and if it is just sync the controller and you should be fine.
