Just installed bf3 on my pc.
Handles it just fine on ultra, never really dipping below 30 fps.
However, this happened after I closed my first match... I reopened it and played a match, I recently had it on medium post aa and 2x msaa and it looks fine, no jagged edges..... But there were so many jaggys!!!! I turned it up to 4x and high... Restarted... Still jaggys... So, I go ahead and update my pc, go into nvidia control panel... Pump it up a little...
Well shit, it still looks like crap. What do?

MSAA is not a jaggy cure all. No AA method is perfect. MSAA only fixes jaggies around the edges of objects, but not on textures, foliage, or transparencies. SSAA will help fix jaggies on everything, but it also incurs more blurriness, as anti-aliasing applies blurring to jagged edges to hide them. SSAA is also extremely taxing and I do not believe is an option for BF3 anyways.

You could try using FXAA along with 2x MSAA. It won't be perfect, but FXAA is like a weak version of SSAA that has much less of a penalty.

I don't have BF3, but I thought it offered an FXAA option within the game from benchmark recollection.

SSAO is a shadow method. I said SSAA (super-sampling anti-aliasing). I do not believe it is an option in game, though it could be possible to turn on within Nvidia Inspector (3rd party tool). However, I doubt it will be playable, as the performance penalty of SSAA is huge.

Look for a way to turn on FXAA in game, or just live with the performance.
