I'm stuck on these 2 motherboards...both are on sale, the Gigabyte is about 10 bucks cheaper.

CPU is going to be an i5 3570k. Not worried about onboard sound because I have an X-Fi Titanium HD. I'm not going to be doing any heavy overclocking, just a small one when/if I get around to it. Will be getting a GTX 760 most likely. PC will be used for gaming almost exclusively.

Would appreciate any input/advice. Thnx :)

if there's not an obvious difference (i.e. how many slots it has vs how many you want) it all comes down reliability. A huge part of that is the power phases, chipset cooling, and VRMs. (overclocking stuff)

From what I hear (at least in AM3+ land, which is what I've researched recently) Asus usually has the highest quality chips. To the degree that a certain 4+2 phase Asus board can overclock well on un-heatsinked VRM, while a MSI board is known to overheat even with the heatsink. Still, each board & series is different.

here's some knowledge for ya': cause' knowledge is power and etc..

good luck. I don't think you can go wrong as long as they...

good luck. I don't think you can go wrong as long as they are highly rated, quality boards, but this gives you more power to get it right.

This is hard...lol. Thanx for the replies so far. I believe the Gigabyte has more power phases? but I've read the BIOS isn't so great. I was so close to buying the Asus and then on a whim I did some Googling...a lot of people seem to recommend the Gigabyte over the Asus, which got me second guessing.
