Monitor freaking out

I have a asus wide screen monitor that was working fine with a ATI 5830 video card, using a DVI cable.
When I upgraded my motherboard to a haswell, Same video card, same dvi cable, same monitor, the monitor will actually lock itself up. Freezes the screen or a black screen. The power button doesn't work when it does this. Very random. Sometimes it works fine on boot up, other times it doesn't. reboot seems to work fine.

Unplugging the power to ONLY the monitor and then back on, monitor works perfectly fine again. Any ideas?

Solution
You changed motherboard to Haswell motherboard?
You mean H87 / Z87 Chipset mobo?

Its the CPU which has codename Haswell (Intel 4th Gen Core i series).

Anyways, check out both the solutions -

1) Open case and re-connect PCIE Power Connectors along with graphics card too.
2) Re-connect monitor to Graphics Card and make sure connection is tight on both sides of cable.
3) Use another monitor and see if same issue arises there too or not. If yes then its the CPU causing trouble (Probably loose or bad wiring) otherwise its monitor.
