As a first time pc builder I was very excited when my new computer booted up for the first time. After I installed windows 8 I plugged in my Bose Computer speakers in to the RS port of my computer. I watched a YouTube video to test if the sound was working. Sadly no sound came out of the speakers. I download the Latest Motherboard Drivers and Realtek HD from the MSI web site. I tried to watch the same video on YouTube with still no sound. I clicked the speaker button on my toolbar and The green and gray bar was moving. I'm at a loss for how to fix this as it seems no one else has this problem.

Thanks
Joseph

BTW: My Motherboard is a MSI 970a-g46

Solution
Device manager .

Is an audio chip listed and does it have any software issues ?

If everything is fine there open the realtek controls by right clicking on the system tray icon and make sure its not muted , or the volume turned down

How do I check if the audio chip is listed? Is it in the BIOS or in Realtek?
