system hangs while using 2 hdd

hey guys,
i use 945 motherboard, P4 processor, 4gb ram
I have 2 internal hdd 1-Seagate 500gb
2-WD 250 gb
i was using 500gb till now bt it is not sufficient for me so i want to add my another 250gb hdd...bt when i connect that hdd...nd start using it, it hangs the system for 5 mins....nd gets system slow....even i cannot see movie properly....so plzzz guys help me out what to do???

There is a good chance that the hard drive you added is bad. Can you check the SMART status? Free programs that you can use are Speedfan and Crystal Disk Info. If it has bad sectors a full format may help temporarily but it is failing and should be replaced soon. Do not store any important data on it.
