specs:
amd cc 13.5 ( the program i use with overclocking the cpu)

amd fx 8350
hyper evo 212
asus m5a78L-m/usb3
sapphire 7950 vapor-x boost edition
8 GB ram

so i downloaded the latest ccc version on my 3 week old new pc ( had 13.4 before dident work either ) and looked how it peformend and it all did fine then i went to overclocking first i overclocked my GPU to 1125 MHZ and 1500 memory on 1% voltage it all worked fine no problems than i went to overclocking my cpu so i used the ccc auto tune program and i needed to restart my pc all fine and than i overclocked my cpu to 4.5 Ghz with the 212 hyper evo (schould work fine) so i did that and went to bf3 for some testing once i got in the game the game had a huge lagg and froze from the start tried this again on another server same result ( i did restart my pc in the progress) than i went to another game wargame airland battle and i had the same odd lagg so i turned down my cpu to the standard 4 ghz and everything worked fine but what is the reason i cant overclock my cpu ? i had the same problem on the 13.4 ccc

if anyone has any suggestions please tell me quick :wahoo:

( sorry for the bad english i'm dutch )

First of all never overclock from 4 to 4.5 in one step, that way you never know where overclock failed - if it's multiplier, base clock or memory.
Second use a stability tester like for instance prime.
You probably are already damaging your operating system.
First draw a baseline by checking stability with your 4.0 settings and go from there with small steps.

i am pretty new in the overclocking world but i cant slide any voltages like i can with my gpu i can only slide the ghz and on this forum i saw someone who got the 8350 with the hyper evo on 4.6 so i suggested it would be no problem to turn it up to 4.5 in one go

Rowan, You need to learn what you are doing first and then do it, never take anothers advice out here giving you a quick fix in a forum where 5 best answers makes you an expert.

You may be getting advice from someone 2 weeks ago knew less than you do.

Manual overclocking is the way to go, so Google a guide overclocking the FX AMD CPUs before you mess something up permanently.

For some overclocking core knowledge the AMD FX has almost the same overclocking tendencies as The AMD BE, as I do have an AMD FX 6300 so you can use my guide up in the stickies for the basics you need to know.
