I just received my new FX-8350 in the mail, and dropped it into my rig to find that my rig fails to post. Upon putting my Phenom II X6 1075T back into my rig, my rig boots no problems. Any ideas on what is going on? I'm hoping I didn't received a DOA processor, and that instead it is something simple I am overlooking.

Motherboard- Gigabyte 990FXA-UD5 Revision 1.0 (Bios has been flashed to latest stable version F11)

CPU - AMD Phenom II X6 1075T --> AMD FX-8350

Ram - G-Skill Ripjaws 8GB 1333Mhz

PSU - OCZ ZX Series 1000W

GPU - Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 4GB

Solution
Okay well here is what I would do:

1. Move the RAM to the very first slot (closest to the motherboard) and remove any extra cards or anything you have (the video card shouldn't be removed) and start the computer.

If that doesn't work

2. Check all your power connections and make sure they are all connected properly. Make sure all 24 pins are in on the motherboard main power connection and make sure the 8-pin CPU connection is connected properly. Repeat step one.

If that doesn't work

3. Check your operating system. If you are running Vista or XP your computer may not have the generic drivers to load an FX-8350. You may have to upgrade to a newer version of Windows for the CPU to work.

If that doesn't work

4. The processor is most...

4. The processor is most likely DOA. I would contact the AMD technical support team and they can lead you through specialized troubleshooting steps and help you in the RMA process if it turns out to be a DOA processor.
