Hello all, I am still fairly new to this community, so apologies if I posted this in the wrong place. I have an HP Pavilion G7 2023cl laptop that I have had for the past year. Recently I have noticed that my games have been running quite slowly (fps lag), and decided to start monitoring my temperatures with CPUID's monitor. I noticed that the CPU temperature was quite high (~120 degrees Celsius). I shut it down and left it alone for several hours, and booted it up and immediately opened the monitor, the fans showed ~30 degrees (C), while the CPU showed a steady 90. I have cleaned the fans with compressed air and I have a laptop cooler. What should I do?

Solution
CPUs shut down and throttle at 100C .... so the temps you are reading dont seem "real".

Have you opened up the back (bottom) and cleaned out all the dog hair, cookie crumbs and stuff ?

Yes, that is what I have been wondering. I feel as if my sensor is broken, as the computer feels warm at most while these temps are being read. I have opened it several times and cleaned out any dust inside.
