I've been searching for a video or well written instructions on how to install the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 on an AMD motherboard. Most of the videos and articles I've found here and elsewhere emphasize Intel. I've looked at the pdf manual for this and it isn't quite as clear in the instructions as I would like.

Any links or advice?

This one seems to make it clearer as to how to install it. Yet it's problematic because the text is in Spanish. So far I haven't found any video on this that uses AMD and in English. The processor I'm going to install is the A10-6800K Richland. It seems that the bracket that comes with the Arctic is only for Intel installs. I like this cooler because it doesn't require a back plate and SEEMS to be an easy install for AMD but seeing is believing.

I've been researching coolers for this build for awhile and am getting tired of Newegg's pricing games surrounding the Cooler Master EVO and other products. The $25 price they are asking for the Arctic is more reasonable. I'm about ready to go ahead with but don't want any surprises or hassles. Of course it will be easier as it's a build with the motherboard not in the case. I can't see why anyone would want to do an install of a processor and cooler any other way.

So, there's no need to install that squarish bracket that comes with it? I see there's another rectangular bracket for AMD in the instructions. It looks like it just clicks into the bottom sides of the heatsink and then you screw it tight on the top?

I like this cooler as it has thermal compound pre-applied. Funny thing though, I bought some Arctic 7 TC awhile ago but it's good to have that around just in case.
(I think I just threw a pun in there!)

It looks like this is going to be the cooling solution for me. Given the fact that my Rosewill Thor V2 case has 3 230mm fans, cooling everything should be a breeze. There I go again, another bad pun.

I just received it from Newegg today. There's one stupid problem with it. The pre-applied thermal paste smears when you remove the plastic packaging. It looks like I'm going to have to use the TC I previously purchased. A nuisance now to remove what's left.
