I have just come across this locked folder on my computer and says that I don't have permission to access the folder. Could this have been installed by someone who used my computer and planned to hack it?
The folder is on my D: with 3 letters and then a whole line of numbers after it.
I followed some instructions on how to show hidden folders and I'm not sure if that file was there all along...I don't think so though. I've also been a little bit worried as to whether or not my computer has been hacked as when I go on line and type in the search bar, half of the url is grey (this part www. is grey
the tomshardware.co.uk is black
and
/forum/edit/11376851 is grey.

Is this normal? .... I never really paid much attention :/

The question about websites is easy. Major browsers made this change awhile ago so that it's easier for you to know what site you were on. Supposed to make fishing harder. If you click on a link expecting to go to www.youtube.com and end up on www.youtube.hack.com, you're supposed to realize you aren't where you thought you were. Not everyone pays attention to this however, or understands how to use this info.

As for your other question I suspect you have hidden/system folders and files visible. Also probably nothing to worry about. If you are worried about virus and such are you running an AV? AVG or Aviria? Others are fine as well. You can also check this site for an online scanner, though I would leave one of the other...

Thanks for that... don't worry... I do pay some attention ;)

I'm just really worried about this folder as it has quite a few sub-folders in it which I obviously don't have access to. I have run Microsoft Security Essentials as well as Malwarebytes and they have both come up with nothing.

I changed the settings for the hidden files and that appeared (or it could have been there, but don't think so)...but when I put the option back on to hide files, it was still there hence my uncertainty and I don't have the option to run it as admin.

And is my computer workgroup setting supposed to be workgroup or home?
It says workgroup ...? :/
