Dear all,

Here's my question and plan. I require some advise from you.

Internal HDD A 2TB -> backup to External HDD using GFI program. (for storage)
Internal HDD B 1TB (require to back up as it is mainly for work)

HDD A is filled up, require to go for 3TB at least.

Should I go for Western Digital MyLiveDuo for my HDD A?
or, should I go for 2 x External HDD for HDD A and B to do back up?

I am not going to run 24hrs 7days.

I was told that NAS is not suitable for my need, and the cost saving will be buying of external HDD and back up myself using the program.

I have 5 internal and 2 external HDD, all fully utilised.

Please advise me.

I don't understand the logic of an NAS not meeting ya needs. I like an NAS cause in an emergency I can grab it in one hand and run :)

1 x NETGEAR ReadyNAS 104
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

4 x Seagate 7200.14 2TB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Gives ya 9 TB of RAID safe protected storage

Another option for offsite storage that I use is:

Thanks Jack for the recommendation.

I guess maybe I should go for RAID 5 type.

So NetGear is one of the recommended NAS. =)
