Hi there, I got a new video card today (Double Black Diamond OC Radeon 7770) I've been getting the AMD Driver has stopped working and recovered successfully error. My screen would freeze, and then i'll get a black screen for about 5 seconds with the error message. It would just constantly do that over and over whenever I'm tryin to play a game.

My PSU is 500w.
My motherboard is: M2N68-LA (Narra6) .. (I feel like my motherboard is the problem because it's outdated?)
CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 640
RAM: 4GB

Is it my motherboard or is it a faulty card?

Can anyone help me here?

Thanks in adanvace!

Sounds like a possible heat issue. Try taking the side panel off and running the system. See if things improve. If they do then you may need better case air removal. Have you overclocked the card? If so set it to default speeds and see what happens.

I didn't overclock the card, but I think it's factory overclocked. Here's the exact model of the card. http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/diamond-diamond-amd-radeon-hd-7770-1gb-gddr5-double-black-diamond-oc-edition-pci-e-video-card-7770pe51gdd/10203175.aspx

I lowered my clock speed from 1150 MHz, to 1000MHz, and increased my fan speed from 20% to 35%. My screen doesn't freeze anymore. And I seem to not have any errors, I guess it is because of the heat issue and I need a new case with better air flow.

Thanks for all your help!
