Thanks for the quick response! I have a couple of questions though.

Is upgrading to the 7970 worth the price difference? From what I've read I've seen people say its only a 7% increase whereas some people say its much more.

How is the 7950 compared to the 760? They seem to be around the same price and some people seem to favor it.

Finally, if I were to upgrade my monitor what would be the best one to get that would run at 1920x1200 or higher?

yes 760 and 7970 are about the same performance, you can always OC it though. And since the new line of radeon are around the corner prices on the 7 series may drop.

do you mean 1920x1080? you can get a 23-27 inch monitor. Acer Asus LG Lenovo and Samsung are all great monitors

I recommend two things because I know your computer right now is probably good enough for modern games but you are just dissatisfied with performance.

1) Upgrade your graphics card to a GTX 770 for $400 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125463&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=)

2) Upgrade your monitor to a nice big 27" $250 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824254093)

Right now getting the new intel processors are silly. They will be bottlecapped by GPUs in gaming. Your current CPU is probably being bottlecapped as well by your current GPU (assuming you bought them at around the same time).

Total---- $750. Enjoy that extra $250 and buy yourself some $5 Loaded Pizzas and get some extra games from steam and enjoy testing your baby out on a gameathon

EDIT: I have to say that you have to disregard some negative DOA items unless they are extremely excessive. Most people don't leave feedback unless they want to b*&!

2nd EDIT: 770. #3 http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html. 'nuff said.

Also, ATI has problems with microstuttering, poor drivers, etc. NVIDIA you get better drivers are smoothness.

Thanks for all of the suggestions everybody.

I am currently using an Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0 Ghz processor, 2x2 GB ram, and a Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L mobo. I think it would do me some good to upgrade everything in regards to just the video card. What do you guys think?

Also, I'm thinking about going with the build suggested by sparkz89 but upgrading to the 770. I think I will be able to with my current funds. Would this be reasonable or should I wait on the new Radeon cards?

Finally, I've seen some people asking for builds saying not to list Microcenter as a vendor. Should I avoid them or are they reputable?
